Cookie Policy

Last updated: May 2, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Ritual OS LLC d/b/a Cortex ("Cortex," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on our website at launchcortex.ai and within our web application (collectively, the "Site"). This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites function, operate more efficiently, and provide information to site operators. Cookies may be set by the site you are visiting ("first-party cookies") or by third parties whose services are integrated into the site ("third-party cookies").

Similar technologies include pixel tags, web beacons, local storage, and device fingerprinting, which serve comparable purposes. References to "cookies" in this policy include these similar technologies.

2. How We Use Cookies

We use cookies for the following purposes:

  • To operate the Site and provide core functionality
  • To authenticate your session and keep you logged in
  • To remember your preferences and settings
  • To understand how you use the Site so we can improve it
  • To ensure the security of your account and the Platform
  • To measure the effectiveness of our advertising and attribute conversions

3. Types of Cookies We Use

3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are required for the Site to function. They enable core features such as authentication, session management, security, and navigation. Without these cookies, the Site cannot operate properly. These cookies do not require your consent.

3.2 Functional Cookies

These cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalization, such as remembering your dashboard layout preferences, selected team views, or onboarding progress. They do not track your activity across other websites.

3.3 First-Party Preference Cookies

These cookies store your privacy choices so we can respect them on future visits.

3.4 Analytics Cookies

These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the Site by collecting information about pages visited, time spent, and navigation patterns. We use this data solely to improve the Site. For visitors in the EEA and UK, these cookies are only placed with your consent.

PostHog events are processed on US-based infrastructure. For EU/UK visitors, PostHog is initialized in opt-out mode by default and only captures data after you accept analytics cookies.

3.5 Advertising and Retargeting Cookies

These cookies are set when you interact with the marketing site (launchcortex.ai) — not inside the Cortex product dashboard. They allow us to measure whether our advertising is reaching the right people and to attribute conversions. For visitors in the EEA, UK, and California, these cookies require explicit consent or are blocked by default.

3.6 Third-Party Operational Cookies

Some third-party services integrated into the Site may set their own cookies. We do not control these cookies.

4. Cookie Consent

4.1 General

When you first visit the Site, you will see a cookie banner asking for your consent to non-essential cookies (analytics and advertising). You may:

  • Accept all cookies by clicking "Accept all" on the banner
  • Reject non-essential cookies by clicking "Reject non-essential"
  • Manage preferences by selecting which categories of cookies you wish to allow

Strictly necessary cookies and first-party preference cookies cannot be disabled because they are required for the Site to function or to honor your own consent choices.

You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clicking the "Cookie Preferences" link in the Site footer.

4.2 European Economic Area and United Kingdom (GDPR)

If you are visiting from the EEA or UK, we process analytics and advertising cookies only on the basis of your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). We do not rely on legitimate interests for advertising cookies on the marketing site.

By default, all analytics and advertising cookie signals are set to "denied" until you provide consent. Strictly necessary cookies are placed on the basis of legitimate interest to enable core Site functionality.

4.3 California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We treat the use of advertising cookies (Meta Pixel, Google Ads) as "sharing" under the CPRA.

You may exercise this right by:

  • Clicking "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" in the cookie banner
  • Using your browser's Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal — we honor GPC automatically

We process analytics cookies (PostHog, GA4) under the legitimate interest basis for business analytics as permitted under CCPA.

5. How to Manage Cookies in Your Browser

In addition to the cookie controls we provide on the Site, you can manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • View the cookies stored on your device
  • Delete some or all cookies
  • Block cookies entirely or block only third-party cookies
  • Set your browser to notify you when a cookie is set

Instructions for common browsers:

  • Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and Other Site Data
  • Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings > Cookies and Site Permissions > Manage and Delete Cookies

Blocking or deleting cookies may affect the functionality of the Site. If you disable strictly necessary cookies, you may be unable to log in or use the Platform.

6. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers transmit "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals. We currently do not respond to DNT signals because there is no industry consensus on how to interpret them.

We do honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid opt-out of "sharing" of personal information for advertising purposes under the CPRA. If your browser sends a GPC signal, advertising cookies will be blocked automatically without requiring you to interact with the banner.

7. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our use of cookies or in applicable law. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Material changes will be communicated consistent with our Privacy Policy.

8. Contact Us
